i went to northwestern again the last weekend (meaning i just came back) my bus back to Champaign was 3:00pm, but we reached there at around 3:15pm-- and i missed the bus. joey was so frustrated that he went ahead and vented his anger at the 柱子 in the station. as i rushed up to warn him about vandalism, this woman came up to us and asked if we were Chinese. apparently she came from Indiana and wanted to go to New York. she doesn't speak a bit of English and wanted us to translate for her and get her a ticket to New York, then tell her friend where she is and where she will be landing in New York so her friend can pick her up. lol... that was a run-on sentence. anyway, joey and i thought she was quite brave to do all that without knowing the language. i was thinking luckily that she interrupted us, otherwise i would have a hard time calming joey down. after translating and making sure she knows where she is going, she was so happy and relieved that she dragged us to the food court and shoved food into our arms, despite our protests that we didn't need any. this includes: 4 king-sized Snicker bars, 2 oranges (which we devoured while waiting for my next bus at 6:35pm), 2 apples, and a potato salad. such a nice lady lol... after she left at 4:45pm, joey and i were back to peacefulness ..... after an hour or so joey went to check my gate number, a janitor walked by and asked me if i read. i said, "uh, yeah?" he said, "well here, i found a book lying around and i don't want to throw it away, so if you want it, take it." i asked, "isn't here a lost and found here?" he said, "yeah, but it usually ends up in the trash." so i took the book. in an afternoon, i ended up with loads of free stuff.... (because i missed the bus!! i should thank joey for this lol) |
